Engineering & Manufacturing Excellence
The majority of Crosby's products are "Heat Treated." This heat treatment process provides an important advantage by allowing the product to deform if it becomes overloaded, serving as a warning sign before ultimate failure. In contrast, an "As-Forged" or non-heat treated product may break suddenly and without warning. This is known as a "Catastrophic Failure" and is a consequence of the non-heat treated product's brittleness or lack of toughness when compared to the heat treated counterpart.
